The Trans is the same. The bell housing is different. Un bolt the V6 bellhousing and bolt up the V8 bellhousing.

ditch the 4l60e and go t-400

if you're building up the motor just get rid of the 4l60e while it's not connected

i know this thread is a little old, but GM rates the 4L60E tranny to withstand about 350ftlbs of tq when it has over 100K miles on it.

the car i dont think is meant to handle more than 1000-1300 pounds of addl weight in the car, so i wouldnt tow a boat with it.

well, i wouldn't be towing it far, and on top of that, the main thing i was worried about was heat/ weak parts..... i'm going to run an extra/larger tranny cooler for sure......... and with the tounge weight set properly on the trailer, the car doesnt actually have that much weigt "on it" yes it is pulling that, but if the trans is strong and i take it easy, it should hold out.......
