Default Rain problems

so im driving home yesterday and it starts pouring.. not good when your cold air intake is about 4 inches off the ground.. so just as i suspect i hear a small backfire and the car shuts off.. i push it into a parking lot and wait a long time then try to turn it back over.. after a few tries it starts but its idling high.. i get home and it seems to be fine.. what do you think happened? (i know water got in the intake but what do you think happened to the engine since it is still running? perhaps the MAF shut it off??)

you might have got water into your cyclinders, not likely but a
possiblity. take out all your plugs and try to crank it over, if water
shoots out then your problem is found

im guessing opti.. its either not getting any spark or its not getting any fuel pressure... i dont know why it would run fine for 24 hours after the rain and then all of the sudden just stall
