ok my friend Jay has a 91 camaro RS 305 TBI auto
his current mods are headman headers true dual 3 inch exhaust no cats to dual glaspacks and dumps before rear axle
373 posi
underdrive pulleys
smog pump removed
drop base air cleaner
high performance igniton wires and plugs
he stil has the stock tranny with no mods to it
and everything else is like completely stock
he was asking me what cheap mods he can do to it to make it just a little faster but not nothing to where it is a hot rod
i told him throw a shift kit,stall converter,corvette servo (i have no idea what this does, or if it really really help any, i just know i had one put in mine)
maybe a chip and a dyno tuning
he doesnt want to have any forced induction or nitrous so that is out of the question and he wants to try to avoid new heads,cam,intake,throttle body
any suggestions, i really think tuning that tranny would help some
he wants to get the car to about 9 second flat 1/8 mile time ish maybe a little lower and he is now at a 9.8 so throw out some suggestions please and thanks

The 305 TBI system is hard to work with because they don't make a lot of stuff for it. A stall converter and some better tires will probably do the trick for what he wants though. If not, theres not much else you can do without going carbed or TPI.

Eddlebrock makes a TBI intake manifold that is comparable to a good 4Bbl manifold.
Get a small cam 210/215 .490 range, there are a bunch that can be had for less than $200.
150 HP N20 plate system. The TBI system should allow for the placement of a NOS Sniper plate.
That could get your freind into the high 12s. But realisticaly a 350 swap is his best bet.

So realistically it's 40-60rwhp away from his goal if he gets a bigger stall.
Tell jay to quit fucking around and get a 350.
