My transmission on my v6 88 camaro over all sucks and I plan on buying a used/rebuilt one soon, but I need to know if my torque converter is bad as well. When it shifts into a new gear, either from park, neutral, or another gear, its shifting very hard. Also, my friend says that if your torque converter is bad, it will roll backwards on a hill while in idleing in drive and my car does this. Is this true? Can these symptoms also be caused by a bad transmission? Thanks.
