Default skip shift?

ive got an m6 camaro and have seen these skip shift eliminators fs. and was wondering whats the pont of them? when my skip light comes on i just stick it into 2nd like normal. i have stuck it into 4th before. but it seems pointless. my question is why is it 30$ to get rid of the skip shift? should i not stick it into 2nd when the light comes on? any help would be great thanks

Skip shift or C.A.G.S (computer aided gear selection) is at part throttle less than 20% and below a certain MPH (when the light comes on) its supposed to block out 2nd and 3rd. So you go from 1st to 4th directly. Its just for gas milage reasons and how we got around the gas guzzler tax imposed by the government. Yours might be messed up or already have the skip shift module in it if its not blocking you out of 2nd and 3rd so no need to buy it.

zto see if you have one, youd have to get under the car and on the tranny is a solenoid nesr the top on the Pass. side (I think). It should have a plug of some sorts in it.. or look for a dangling plug with something in it. Ill try to find some pics.

It all depends on how much $$$$ you want to spend. Some basic mods are a lid, catback, headers, plug wires, filter, gears.... I could go on and on....

Since you just got your ride... go to www.LS1Tech.com and read all you ever wanted to know and not know about your car.

My car? Lets just say that NOTHING in the motor is stock
