Default 88 Camaro v6 issues...

The transmission and rear end are acting up and I was thinking about going to a junkyard and getting used ones and installing them myself cause I'm really poor and I need transportation. How hard are each to do and what are some of the problems I'd be dealing with? The car is pretty much crap, I know, but its all I have for now and I need it running to get to school and work. Thanks for the help.

it's really not that hard to unbolt and rebolt a transmition, but you will need around 12 qts of transmition fluid. the rear end make shure the drive shaft will bolt up to the different rear end, try to get the same one. when you take the rear end off, start by taking the struts off 1st. of course take the tries off before that.but if you run into any trouble ask me i work on cars all day.

Dropping the rear axle is no big deal. This will definately be the toughest repair I've tackled so far, but I'm pretty mechanically minded so if its basically bolt off and on then it should be no problem. Will I need any gaskets or seals? Any other pretty cheap and simple repairs I can do while I'm down there?
