I am seriously looking into purchasing one in the next few weeks. Most of the cars I've been interested have been out of state. Can someone give me a testride/drive in theres to make sure it is what I want before I go through the troubles of financing and such? I would prefer a 6spd car since that is what I will get. I do not want to beat on the car. I actually just want to go on a mild mannored testdrive/ride as this car will be my dailydriver. I will fill your gas tank for you as a courtesy. if this is possible please let me know. Thanks

Have you tried any dealerships yet? If not new, Car Max always has a few vettes..

 

Carmax only has 2 vettes in tampa and they are both autos. Most dealerships wont take me too seriously because i'm only 22 and they dont think I can afford one.

 

Did you try Hillsbourgh Auto Mart? They usually have no problems letting guys take out the cars on test drives. They also have a good stock of GM sports cars.

 

yeah, that used to happen to me when I was looking at ls1's (i was 19) and they didnt think I could afford one, when I came to look at the Cobra and they saw what I drove, I had a test drive right away(I was also in uniform too though, maybe that helped lol)

yeah, I may go test drive that pewter 97. I wish they would get some more 6spd vette in. I want one with a little lower mileage than that one Thanks for the replies guys!

My dad has an '02 but its an auto, and he's out of state at the moment

edit: just saw that pic... nice vette. I agree, 6 speed is a MUST.
