Wink what to look for in an f body

I'm tired of the se-r and looking at an ls1 powered f body manual tranny. Is there anything i should be looking out for good or bad when shopping for one? Is there a good forum for fbodies I caould read up on? Any help is appreciated

John

well a supra was my 1st choice.... but fbody is a dollar or two cheaper. I can afford to have one or the other but Id rather pay less now so I can get a house.

Actually its 01 and up with better power. 01 and up had the LS6 manifold. However...dont let that be a limiting factor. You can make them all quick. I have seen some F bods in the $8k and up range lately.

As for auto or manual...its a toss up. Both have their downside. However there are clutches readily availabe now that can take 700 rwhp for relatively cheap. You just wont be ET quite as fast at the track.
