sinfire overheating

it was the gasket so im in the process of changing it noit but im waiting for the rain to stop.should i use rtv as well as the new gasket ?someone else said to use gasket maker or something like that

ok the damn thing is still running at about 220 degrees.i can grab the lower radiator hose and squeeze it togethet.it should be full of coolant when the fan is cycling rigt?any other ideas ill try tomorrow.have to sleep.

If it's not leaking anymore. Maybe the thermostat is cloged?

Should have replaced the thermostat anyways, not like they are expensive Get a colder one if you can find one as well, better for the Florida heat

make sure your alternator, and fan belt(s) are still there.

Once again, 220 isn't really hot. Replace the thermostat if you want, but unless its still leaking water, you should be fine as it is.

Also, if the lower hose is empty, and the upper hose is full, then you probably have an at least partially clogged radiator.

i replaced the t stat, if its still isnt running cooler im gonna take the t stat out and see how it runs without one.i just think theres some air in the system thats not getting out.

Check the wires that go to the heads. Might be shorted.
