Cost of an engine swap
Alright, I was wondering if someone could give me some low and high ball cost figures for buying an sbc 350 TPI engine and having it installed on my 5.0 TBI Camaro. I know that besides the engine, I'll need all of the intake, wiring harness, sensors, and computer plus a new fuel pump. If I'm missing anything, please let me know. Also, if I get an engine from a junk yard I'll probably have it rebuilt.
Once the engine is installed, what should I do and how much will it cost to get the engine to at least 350 hp without nitrous(That is, I want 350 hp before nitrous)
Thanks

It be easier and more cheaper just to build a carbed 350 with some ported L98 vette alumn heads, a good intake and carb and a healthy cam. Its going to cost a lot to convert your TBI ot TPI.
Bout the easiest way is to buy a TPI Painless Wiring Engine harness and get a TPI computer. Which is about $500 last I checked just for the harness. They also make the Lt1 harness for about $400.
Installing a l98 TPI motor is an easy enough swap, Id figured a few hundred dollars just to swap them out and transfer over all the accessiories and what not. A lot of money is going to be spend on converting it over.
Me honestly I would just buy a TPI car already or just do a carb. Im not very fond of Chevy wiring harness'

I can get a used 350 from thirdgenresource.com for $1250, and a TPI setup(from the MAF sensor to the intake manifold) wiring harness, ECM and fuel rail/injectors for $600. I figure with shipping($300?) and installation($500?) plus $850 of unknown complications and it will come to like $3500 high ball. If I get better deals on a local engine then it could be more like $1500 total low ball. Are these figures pretty acurate? Am I missing anything?
