Found my new engine
Im found a smoking deal on a LT1 short block.
SRP pistons 11.7 compression
Scat 9000 crank
Eagle forged H beams ARP rod bolts
ARP 2 bolt mains
clevitt 77 bearings
800 miles on it. From a respected member on camaroz28.com which makes me feel comfortable about buying it.
He told me it has some special over fed gerbels in it that'll make the car get up and go.

My XE bleeds off alot of exhaust. 230/236 duration. Pull back the timing some if i have too...
I think that'd be ok. What do u think?

Stock compression is 10.5:1 if I'm not mistaken ... so if you were to just back off the timing a little like you said with that cam I'm sure you'd be fine.
Maybe even use a thicker headgasket.

Yeah i have to find out if that compression is with a .29 , .39 or .49 thick gasket..
The quench on the LT1 isnt optimal... so a .29 brings is closer to ideal... Which i what i run but i might not if 11.7 was off a .49 gasket
