Default lt1 cam install

just got my cc305 cam and i'm looking for detailed installation instructions. I've seen a couple good sites before but cant remember where i saw them and i'm looking for more info. Do you really have to take the heads/intake apart to do this (so lifters dont fall), or just the front end of the engine? I'm pretty sure i have most of the stuff to do the install but i need to know exatly what i need to do this (tools and everything). one of the big questions though was about if i need to take the intake and heads apart (because i dont remember seeing that you needed to do this in the installation i saw before). any help is greatly appreciated

I haven't done a cam install on an LT1, but I have on other engines. You will need to remove the intake so you can get to the lifters, the valve covers, rockers, and push rods will need to be removed, then the lifters. You will not be able to remove the cam without doing this, I know it sucks, especially with half the motor under your dash

like buick said above, the intake has to come off, the heads stay on, but you will have to change your valve springs for that cam.
