What gear ratio with spray

I have a 4.10 gear in my garage that I'm thinking about putting in, but would this be too much gear with a 150 shot?? Would I be better off with a 3.73 if I do alot of racing from a roll...( I know its gay), but most turbo imports like to go from 40mph or so and I dont wanna run outta gear on the bridge.....whats the reccomendation????
Alot of people go back to the 3.42's or 3.73's when they spray. they say the 410's just run out way to quick...however if you like racing through 5th gear it prob wouldn't be so bad. I am talking in 1/4 timeslips.

Will..with 4.10s and a 6200 rev limit you will max out in the 1/4 mile early, somewhere around 117 mph in 4th. You have a couple of options. Throw a cam in there with some good springs so you can raise the rpm range to 6700 rpm or so with 4.10s, that will give you around 126 mph in 4th. Or you could just go with 3.73s and nitrous. that would give you around 128 mph.

I have honestly always had good luck with less gear, especially street racing. On the street, the car that makes mph is going to win. My old mustang ran 6.70 @ 102 in the 1/8 with a 3.73 gear, and a c-4. I had an '87 hatchback with a 5 speed, only mods were off road h-pipe, mufflers, turndowns, pulley, and a dry kit with the biggest jets I could find. Ran a 11.99 in the 1/4 with a 7.6 1/8 then went a 7.5 two weeks later at sunshine, the car had a 2.73 gear!! My roadmaster now only has a 3.08 with a th350 trans, and my 60' is 1.72 so far. Honestly, people like to rate nitrous kits by the horsepower because that is what everybody wants to hear, you should really think of it as torque in a bottle. Hit the kit in high gear, hardly anything happens, it makes it's power down low, that's why I would say stick with a lower gear. I'm not even sure I'd go 3.73, maybe 3.42? Definately not your 4.10's, you are just going to blow the freakin' tires off, and once you hook, you'll be out of gear.

I might be going back to 3.42's when I go with the bigger motor.

the 3.73's will be better for you than the 4.10s for what your trying to do, if you have 3.42s in the car now id leave it alone.
