F-Body Reliability
Change your battery. Especially if it's giving you more problems on cooler nights. Even with the best alternator, a weak battery isn't going to hold a charge. If the battery is new, it may be the starter, I've seen that too, on a v-6 olds I had, but I would start with the battery.

Anyhow, thanks for the info, and Buick, thanks also, I'll try switching out the battery, because I did have to recharge it once before with a charger, and ever since its gotten cold its been giving me more problems.

I've got a 94 LT1, rolled over 126k today at lunch. Only problems I have had is the water pump. Only other part that has failed is the clutch after 80k. I drive the ish out of this car EVERYDAY. I'm still on my stock opti which *knock on wood* may be going downhill. (Car breaks up at WOT upper RPMS, occassionally.) But I get up everyday and crank 'er up and she gets me to and from work without missing a beat!
She's got a few bolt on's as well.
Hope that helps.

We have 1 lt1 firechicken that comes to the shop with almost 170k on it. Had very minimal problems finalyl did the optispark and water pump on it. I mean its still essantially a regular 350, and chevy has been doing them for years and years.
It sounds to me like your fuel pump is what is giving you your problems besides the whole V-6 thing, you need to bump to a V-8 because unless you plan to sink thousands into your v-6 you cant drive them like v-8's
I have a 91 RS with 138K ran like a champ until I threw a main barring, but now Im swaping the motor with a Vortec 350 with a comp cam kit, 310 RWHP

So you replaced the Opti and it was fine?

yup, incredible difference in throttle response and seemed to restore a lot of lost hp.
It shouldn't be too bad on the wallet if you go with these guys here. They know a lot of people because a lot of them have already done this to their lt1's. There is a guy named Jason Cromer that can get brand new opti's for 209 I believe.
