My number 1 suggestion would be headers, and a K&N for the air cleaner. A friend of mine has a 89 Trans Am TBI, has the same motor and headers and a high flow down pipe and muffeler really made a big difference.

Kinda stupid if you ask me, but thats GM for ya
I have a 92 305 TBI. SLP catback, Ypipe, Random Tech Cat,SLP shift kit. Auburn Posi w/ 3.73's.
The best i got was 16.0@85. I wouldn't spend alot of time or waste money on that motor, It's a roach.
For the money you will dump into it, you can get an LT1 and trap 2.0 seconds lower and 15 MPH higher in the 1/4.
you will spend thousands of dollars, and still be no where near 200 RWHP.

..or swap in a TPI put a stealth ram intake manifold on, and do a h/c combo and be around 350whp...i dont see a TPI being more than a couple hundred from a junkyard...

I do. Unless you are talking about a shortblock. But even the 88+ I thnk it was were all roller motors so these will cost a good price because of it. And grabbing one outta a vette with alumn heads will be even more.
Still the cheapest would be a decent 350, slap in a $100 cam kit from Crane or Comp. Drop an intake and carb on it, you will be pretty happy over all.

Nah... It flows alot better than the stock unit ever could. You want to stay away from the big box one from Lenginfelter though. Ive read alot of horror stories about it never sealing right, bolts major PITA to get to to tighten, etc..

Ive driven a car with a TPIS it pulled all the way to 7k. And the ports are pretty massive. Im pretty it would overkill on a stock longblock TPI.
Ive done a few ligenfelters as well. Never had any problems other than they are are PITA to put togther. 2x as bad to work compared to the stock TPI setup.
