Subaru Forester 2.5XT in Car and Driver!!
The XT gets a 2.5, but it's not the STi motor. Forester engine is completely cast, I believe. STi has forged internals amongst other things.
I cannot believe they got the car to run a 13.8 through the quarter!
It has to come down to the extra torque in the 2.5L or maybe the gearing, since the XT gets the 4.444 final drive gearbox. It's quicker to 60mph in their tests as well. I wonder if Subaru sent them a slightly 'breathed on' version of the car. Those numbers make the WRX pointless in some ways.
Thankfully, I'm not longer stock.
Billy, I'm really thinking motor swap now.

i was reading an article in another car magazine on the 2.5xt and it got it to hit 60 in 8.9 seconds turboed...that's lame...but whatever...i think the main question here is...how long will the transmission hold up on that bad boy?
