a dremel wont cut it, the motors too small. You will need a drill.

I use a dremel for very tight areas only. The pad you will use on a dremel is too small, and it will leave streaks everywhere.

You can get polishing supplies from Eastwood.

Elbow grease works great too.

Since all my good tools are at the shop I spent about an hour at home with some 220 grit sandpaper and a bucket of water getting the thick oxidation off my fan as preperation for picking up a polishing kit and finishing it up at work.

With cast aluminum you often have to to a lot of surface prep with files and sandpaper to create a surface that is polishable.

alright man what you need is some emery cloth, a three inch buffer wheel and some jewelers rouge. try sears and any autoparts store you can think of you should be able to find it. you use the emery cloth to smooth the surface and then use the jewelers rouge with the three inch buffer wheel in a power drill to polish it and make that ish bling bling ya heard.

Scroll down until you see aluminum polishing. It's a pretty good write up, but be forewarned, polishing takes a long time.

Elbow grease works, but a wheel is faster.

If anyone has ever seen my 69 SS, everything shiney under teh hood was polished by me.

The Stainless Steel Borla headers, Intake manifold, Waterpump, Altenator, Fan, fan spacer, ETC.

I have around 300 hours of polishing experince under my belt.
