ok that makes no sence at all,sliding completly sideways like like these guys want to do makes you no faster,if it did you would see Schumacher drifting every corner in F1 but you dont do you ?

becasue their tires are about as stickey as you can get, plus the drift you see most of the time is "show" drift, theres a race drift where you initate the drift before the turn, apex in a drift and as you slide out your facing the right direction and powering out wiht out hte tail all hanging out, watch rallye, you think they drift for show on that????

 

rally is a completely different story. most asphalt racing sports, there is no drifting involved, especially not F1.

well when you have tires that grip to all hell and pick up every little piece of debrit on the track its not exactly going to be very driftable but even when Rallye is on tarmac they still drift some corners and grip some, thats the skill in a time trial like that, knowing when to stick and when not to, to make it through the turn the fastest, oh and watch dirt track racing the domestics are doing a constant 3 wheel drift the whole time
