Default Need help with a carburetor

Lets see if anyone on here can help...I have a 79 Camaro with a 4/bl carb, i had went on a small vacation and returned to find someone had readjusted my carb so it would not run right...being a little pissed i have no idea on how to readjust it and dont have the money right now to pay a shop to do it. The car will sometimes start but not always and when it does you can only drive it about 5 miles without the car stalling out and not starting again for another hour or so...when it stalls the engine is flooded because you can see the gas comming from the carb...i really need to get the car running again since it is my only transportation, if anyone can help out i would appricaiate it and would return the favor is some way.

yep, either a float problem or a needle that has gone bad.
other than that, maybe a bad power valve?

sounds like the float, why would someone randomly adjust your carb?
let the car sit for a while until the well is empty. get a screw driver and a hammer, hit the well with the handle of the screw driver, then try the hammer, if no good then pull it an clean it.
my 79 qjet was the biggest piece of crap ever designed, i could have done better with a spray bottle and a long string.

in the end i found a 73 4 barrel from and olds that bolted right up in its place, never another problem.

The carb is about old as the dam engine..
I hate vacume secondaries..

I adjusted the floats..Someone fucked with it and the shit was just pouring out of the carb, adjusted air/fuel things were ok ..still had a slight miss, engine has new cap/plugs/rotor/wires..

The dam timing was so dam advanced to keep the car running,

The starter was grinding on the4 flywheel so bad..it just took a shit..

So now got to fix the starter..

Any of you guys have a trailor so he can get it towed to his house? Its in Temple Terrace..and needs to go abotu 3 blocks north of Gandy on Westshore..

If you do manage to get money to get someone to fix it...there's a shop that I took my Prelude to that does carburetors. (yes, the prelude had dual carbs) it's Hayward's Auto, I think it's off of Waters...have ta look it up. I had both carburetors rebuilt for about $400. Nobody would touch them, not even Pinellas Carburetor ):
