Default Everyone turn to page 12...

...in their May 03 Honda Tuning mags... OMG, this is the most worthless shit ever...

its a Q & A page answered by Dom Conti (whoever his sorry ass is)... this guy is a complete moron and has no business answering questions... the only thing he is good for is a laugh... the fact that this garbage was printed goes to show that the honda tuning staff is about as knowledgeable as a rock... for those who do not get this mag, ill try to scan the page and post it for anyone who needs a good laugh today...

honda tuning used to be a good mag when it first came out... now its a piece of shit along with every other import mag (with the exception of DRAG Sport - put out by IDRC)...

my email to Honda Tuning:

Oh man, you guys really made us laugh this time. I just finished reading "exhaust notes" from the May 03 issue. Wow, I can't believe this garbage made it through your editors. Dom Conti is either an idiot, can't read well, has little or no knowledge of Hondas, is too lazy to research before he answers a question, or is a mixture of all of these. Almost every one of his answers was either wrong, useless, or both. Thanks for the laughs. Christian

thier email back:

Care to elaborate? Dom drives and crews on the PAC Motorsports EF in NHRA Hot Rod.
Can't say any of us have ever heard of Hyperwire. Any cars you've built that we might know of?

Dan
Honda Tuning

my email back:

Sure, I'll elaborate.

First Answer (LSD: Not Just For Hippies Anymore): "Jeff, I assume you have a
GSR head on the B20 lower end. Or is it a B-Series VTEC head? Either way
you...."
First, you can't assume anything. Second, last time I checked a GSR head
was a B-Series VTEC head.

Second Answer (Del Whoa!): "Could I just recommend a nice B16 VTEC swap?"
First, if Dom was so knowledgeable or would have actually read the letter or
done research, he would have realized that the author owns a Del Sol Si.
What is the significance you ask? The Del Sol Si came with a B16A. Second,
there is no such thing as a B16 non VTEC motor.

Third Answer (Rally 3G CRX): "The factory rear-drive system is more of an
assist rather than a true AWD. It seems weak. I would suggest looking at
the CR-V setup...."
First, what does he think the CRV setup is, true AWD? Well it's not. It's
called "Real Time AWD" and it is an assist to the front wheels when needed.
Second, it is very weak.

Fourth Answer (Alcohaul):
I have not researched alcohol injection and I do not know much about it,
therefore I will take his word for it.

Fifth and final Answer (CRV Performance): "As for the VTEC conversion, I
haven't heard of anyone doing it, but I'm pretty sure it's possible. Keep
an eye on us, though..."
First, I am at a loss for words. This man answered a question about a B20
VTEC motor at the very beginning of this Q&A. Are we to believe that this
knowledgeable, credible individual does not know what vehicle the B20 comes
from? Has he never heard the term CRVTEC? Second, a little research goes a
long way. I think that if I was going to be answering tech questions that
were to be printed in a magazine, I would do a little research if I was
unsure about something. Maybe thats just me. I also think that if I was an
editor or whoever is in charge of finding people to answer questions, I
would make it a point to check a source's credibility before recruiting
them. Being a good driver does not make you a good mechanic. Being a good
driver does not automatically qualify you to answer tech questions.

As for cars that I have built, you would not be familiar with anything I
have built. Not at this time anyway. Maybe in the near future. My daily
driver is a mint condition teal 91 Honda Civic (hatchback) Si. It is edited for content powered and soon to be turbocharged. It
currently has Skunk2 coilovers for suspension and is lowered on Integra LS
wheels. I plan on doing the Integra Type-R 5 lug conversion and throwing on
some TEINs. Interior wise, it has a JDM Civic SiR instrument cluster, OEM
Honda CD player from a 99 Civic Si, and plans for USDM Type-R seats. Other
plans include: JDM Civic SiR front clip, JDM Taillights, JDM spoiler, Type-R
wheels, and then repainted the factory teal.

I also own a 99 Honda CRV (yes, it's a 5 speed) with a B20B motor, AEM cold
air intake, B&M fuel pressure gauge, AEM, fuel pressure regulator, ZEX
nitrous dry kit, ZEX spark plugs, ZEX purge kit, almost all of the ZEX
accessories, Walbro inline fuel pump, GReddy 60mm warning series EGT gauge,
2.5" custom cat-back exhaust with a Random Technology High Flow cat, lowered
with Skunk2 coilovers and Koni adjustables, 19" Racing Hart C3's, and I am
probably leaving a few mods out. Next mods include: GSR or ITR LSD equipped
tranny (to get rid of the real time AWD) and a custom turbo setup along with
a front mount intercooler.

Del Sol Si came with the d16z6, Del Sol VTEC came with the b16. You just made yourself look retarded.

shit, i forgot about the del sols with the d16's... ok, i stand corrected, except the d16z6 is also a vtec motor... therefore the del Sol Si can also be considered a del Sol VTEC...
