I would never.....mainly for the fact you stated above......that you can't test drive it or see it in person beforehand.

Yeah ebay isn't for cars. More like star wars action figures that go for like $200 dollars each.

I bought my car through Ebay (sig pic). I emailed the guy and requested to test drive the car before the auction closes. By the time we arranged it, the bid was to $1200, and he agreed to that price, 3 days before it would even have closed, if I wanted to buy the car.

Drove down to Miami area, drove the car, was pleased with it (it was exactly as stated, I found no major extra flaws) and did the paperwork. As I was driving down, someone else had bid $1225, but he didn't even mention it to me, took the $1200, and went back inside and closed the auction.

If it's local, or at least...somewhat local, that may be an option. If you do it before the auction closes, don't bid as high as you're willing to pay, that way if you don't want it after the test drive, someone else will outbid you, and no problems. The guy I dealt with was cool, it was convenient for him to sell the car sooner rather than later.

It depends on the car, and the price, like i bought a 91 GT in georgia for 1,900$. With it being that cheap i didnt really care how it drives, the motor, transmission rear end, tires and wheels are worth that....plus it has good interior and the body is nice and straight i think i got a good deal

eh still, watch when you get up to Georgia and the transmission or something is blown.
