Default Car Show Etiquette that I think everyone should read and know...Sal N Mayra Denogean

Sal N Mayra Denogean:

Car Show Etiquette that I think everyone should read and know...
Car show etiquette

Attending
1. Don’t touch vehicles that aren’t yours under any circumstances
2. Watch your necklaces while leaning over or inside any vehicle
3. Refrain from openly criticizing a build, everyone builds their vehicle based on their likes, not yours
4. Be mindful of others around you while looking at vehicles, sometimes someone just wants a quick view and there are people congregating around vehicles just talking
5. Do not allow your children to touch/lean/get in any vehicle at any time that doesn’t belong to you
6. Always dispose of trash in proper places, this helps vehicle owners and promoters enjoy the show without worrying about garbage
7. Respect vehicle displays and don’t cross ropes or step on carpet without permission

Showing
1. Always leave one door closed, photographers need one side of the vehicle to take photos on
2. Park a safe distance from other vehicles so that your doors won’t hit and photographers can get good shots of the vehicle
3. While driving through the show grounds, avoid soft spots or go slow to ensure you don’t kick dirt or mud on any other vehicle
4. Always straighten wheels so photographers can get good images
5. Don’t put coolers in bed of trucks, cans or glasses on hood or roof, visible to others, it takes away from the looks of those vehicles
6. Do not put personal chairs in front of vehicles or blocking vehicles from front view
7. Be humble at award time, judges spend the majority of the show judging and tallying points, sometimes you’ll win and sometimes you won’t, deal with it
8. Your behavior at the show or hotel reflects the club you represent, maintain self control and hold a high standard for yourself to others

Photographing Events
1. Sometimes owners do not want models posed or touching vehicles, be mindful and always ask the owner before doing this
2. Pay attention to other photographers, we all have a job to do so spending time blocking another camera guy is uncalled for
3. Do not insult or talk badly about other photographers, we work hard to have our own style whether you like it or not
4. Do not poach vehicle owners, if they have been shot for other magazines do not shoot them for a competing magazine to try to beat them to the punch
5. Always ask owners if they have been shot for other magazines, asking if they have “been in a magazine” is misleading as they could have been shot and haven’t been published yet
Feel free to pass along so more people know
