How do you remove pinstripes off of a car??

Well you all have good ideals but none of them are the proper way to take off pin stripes. Autobody stores sell these things that look like big round erasers ,they hook on to a drill, thats what you use to take off pin stripes. Look at this link for a picture

why spend 94 dollars when u can get a plastic razor for less than a buck?

Uh thats for an air tool also num nutz. you can just buy the eraser and put it on a drill.

If you do apply heat to loosen the goo holding on your stripes, be careful not to overcook the paint.

Back when I was driving a Saturn, and it was still under warranty, some of my stripes started (barely) cracking. I, too, hated the stripes, so I asked the service guy if they would replace the stripes if I asked them to. He said they would. I then asked if they would just remove them and not replace them, he said sure. So they did, and they used the heat/scraper method to do it.

But they overcooked the lower door panel (plastic, it's a Saturn) and blistered the paint. They ended up having to repaint the whole panel.

Heat up the tape and or get a blade to remove the stripe. 3M makes an adhesive remover that will take the glue off without damaging plastic or your paint.
