Holley carbs.. Who knows about them?
Ok im running a 4776-c on my engine
(600 Douple pumper/mechanical secondaries)
I want to know if I can use my dremel and cut back the choke towers,I have not used the choke 1 time since its been on for 3 yrs..
Also can I redip this carb to get back a nice finish?
It looks kinda bad now..
I didnt know Holley has carbs now with painted main bodies
I think this would keep the heat in more...wouldnt it?
I like it though..

You know how a V8 engine primaries sit in the front..secondaries sit towards the firewall?
Well on my shit its primarys to the left,secondaries to the right fender,
You know how on drag racing,when the V engines launches all the fuel rushes towards the back of the carb..and it boggs and needs jet extensions,,
Well I have that problem when taking hard turns..
I got the extensions...but need the god dam notched floats.
Then I saw that you can change the main body and get so much more HP its a main body kit,BUT Im not sure if its a scam.
I like the quick change jet blocks,But its expensivve,
I still need to know if I can cut the choke towers/and get this carb rediped to look like new..

You can cut the air horn / choke housing completely off. It will help flow a little. Make sure you clean it up really well with carb cleaner when you are done otherwise if any little metal fragments get in any of the passages in the metering plate you will be hating life.
Proform main bodies do alot of good, they are only for 750-800 cfm carbs i think though. Cut off the air horn and blend it down toward the venturis, it will be almost the same, only difference is, the other's have downleg boosters which helps alot. No problem with painting the carb, dont worry about heat disapation, carbs like to be hot. Cool fuel doesn't atomize as well because of the inherent temperature drop that comes with vaporization.

Ok I will cut back the choke towers then but the tub on the primary side and secondarie side is for what?
I remeber my float was stuck and fuel was dumping out of the top is this whats its for?
Hopefully my carb will look like this soon

Ohh I need BOTH fuel bowls cause the peice of shit fuel bowl sites,the clear plastic ones broke off in it,
One I can probally retapp out,BUT the other ones threads are all fucked,So either I need to get it tapped bigger or just trash it..
