Default Close to stripped nut

I'm trying to take my midpipe out so I can fix a rattly heatshield. One nut is rusted and I tried it after some liquid wrench and I could feel it was about to slip. Then it did. It still grabs some.

What should I do about this stubborn nut?

I have yet to find a nut or bolt I could not remove with vice grips.

I was about to do that, but my father advised me against it. He told me that it will strip it further, maybe you're just the master of the stripped nuts.

you get it to where it requires the hand of god to tighten the clamp of the vice grip on, and yes, will prolly render the nut not useable, nuts are cheap, you said you wanted to remove it, not keep it for all time

haha, true

I tried the vice grips. THe bitch bolt is still not budging (It's really the nut, but bitch bolt sounds good).

Argh, I hope the other 3 will be a lot easier. Hope I don't need to bust out my rock climbing strength and take the thing off with my hands.

Use either a cutting torch or a cutting disk on a dremmel or rotary tool.

I think it's seized from all the heat. Could I drive the car hard for awhile to get it heated up again then try to get it off?

The vice grips held, and I attempted to use the same strength found in the arms of god to break it loose. Nope.

I didn't want to break anything, b/c it is not budging.
