hey guys/girls. I was searching for a way to turn electric fans on with the PCM on my 240sx and came across Epstien's thread on here. He explains THAT he accomplished exactly what I am trying to, but never posted HOW he went about it.

If anyone knows him and could possibly let him know I am trying to get in contact with him, I would be very appreciative.

seems his last activity on here was in July of '14. I didn't see any way to PM him or email, so I am reaching out to the community.

I turn my fans on when the ignition comes on.

I also installed a manual over ride to cut them off when I'm tuning the car, but
don't want the fans running the battery down.

Not exactly the way you want to do it, but since it gets the job done, we might talk.

talks about using the PCM to control the fan operation utilizing existing pins on the ECU, which is already setup to control fans, there is just no ECU out pin and you need to sacrifice an existing function like fuel pressure module or boost cut and repurposing it to operate a fan relay, which is already in the chassis harness/relay box.

OK. I went to the link. It looks like he got a copy of which pinout that he could "borrow"/re-purpose to use for the fans.

Another way, if a person had a list of pinouts, would be to go down the wire about 6-8inches, and make a y-splice...either by cutting off 1/2 inch of insulation, then wrapping the new fan wire around the original
factory wire and soldering them together,

or
putting 2 wires into one side and the original wire into the other side of a yellow connector and crimping them properly....... don't try this at home folks.... I'm the only person I know with the official phone company crimping tool and the knowledge about how to line it up for a proper crimp....

One thing NOT to do is use the little square blue things with a close-over lid and a pliers. They work loose over time and cause an intermittent on-off problem.

nahh, I got that covered, I want to know how he reprogrammed the outputs in the ECU to change the function. I can wire in a relay and temp switch, that is basic automotive repair 101.

I appreciate your help though. If you see him on here, let him know I'd like to pick his brain.
