Remember that guy who painted his Maserati to look like one of the Transformers? Well, he’s back! And just like the silver screen robots in disguise – he’s not backing down without a fight. In his case, in court.

On August 9, the unnamed owner of the now-famous Decepticon-themed Maserati was pulled over by a Massachusetts policeman and charged with ‘Impersonating a Police Officer’ – a charge that he and his attorney, Russell Matson, claim is unreasonable.



“At no point did he represent himself as a police officer. At no point did he attempt to pull anyone over,” noted Matson on his website.
He goes on to add that his client has never carried a gun or a badge, dressed in a law enforcement uniform, or equipped the car with emergency lights or flashers of any kind. According to the legal statute for impersonating a police officer, the offender “acts as such or requires a person to aid or assist him in a matter pertaining to the duty of such officer.”



The case will be heard in a Clerk Magistrate’s Hearing on September 4, so we’ll soon see if the sinister Maserati, inspired by the character Barricade, fits the bill for these charges.
And while they wait for the case’s outcome, thousands of Transfomers fans will hold off on painting ‘Punish & Enslave’ on their own cars…for now.
