Agreed. Ironically enough, I saw a black one yesterday on the way home that sounded fairly quiet (minus an annoyingly loud PSSSHHHY BOV), and was in really good shape, no bumpers cut up, good paint up close. It had some spraybombed black wheels but otherwise seemed okay. Guy wasn't driving like a total dick either (key word: total )

They do sound good when done right, but done right is foreign to most of their owners, even some who managed to make them fairly fast.

 

Neons where shit cars with carp reliability, sold a 05 that was falling apart at 120,000. My 98 f150 with 166,000 shits on the 05 neons reliability.

 

While i agree with most of this, i guess i was one of the few that didn't have a bad neon. The only thing i can complain about is the valve cover gasket blowing at 115k miles. Drove the car to 155k miles before i got rid of it. 2nd owner.
