PCSO out by the beaches have nothing better to do, but yes its illegal. Move down to south st. pete and you'll never be bothered by cops about your exhaust.

DOT approval really has nothing to do with it. In Florida any exhaust that is louder than stock is illegal. Doesn't matter what brand or what approval stamps it has. Cops on the beach tend to give people more crap about it and use it as a reason to pull you over.

Maybe it depends on what kind of car you have also? I've been pulled over 4 times and never had a problem with mine. They are way over the top loud but maybe because it's a nice car they don't care?

With the GTR cops may just expect it to be loud. Being as it's basically a super car I don't think cops really know how loud (or quiet) the factory exhaust should be. Also you will never see a Mustang, Camaro or any older muscle car get pulled over for exhaust noise. It is 99 percent always directed at import/ tuner/ ricer or whatever you want to call them. Loud exhaust on a Chevelle gets you a thumbs up from the cops. Loud exhaust on a Civic gets you a ticket and a car search.

Modifying your factory exhaust in any way that makes it louder is illegal in Florida.

I'm almost 100% sure modifying it period is illegal, but again not 100% sure.

Yeah I'll just keep that shit on there till they finally give me a fix it ticket. And loud exhaust isnt a probable cause to search your vehicle. If they police ever wanna search your vehicle say this exactly "I'm sorry officer, I dont consent to search." They'll be like damn, this guy knows his shit. Try it next time

You point is invalid. All they have to do is "spot" something in clear view and now have reasonable cause to search your vehicle, or hold you there till they decide that they are done with you, or they hold you there to get a warrant to search it.
