Need help finding a cheap car with potential
I drive 60 miles a day, so I'm looking for a fuel efficient car with tuning potential, that isnt too hard to work on ( I would like to do cams, intake, work on the head and what not. I dont really want to get to pistons or anything where i have to pull the motor).
I have a 2000 dollar budget for a car, and will slowly be putting money into it after that, also id like it to be somewhat a sleeper, I want a manual, but if its nice and only auto ill consider it.
So far Heres a few of the cars I was thinking
civic hatch with a d16 vtec - I figue it can be a sleeper if i dont rice it out
1995 golf 2.0 8v - i think it eould be lighter then a civic
1998 regal supercharged - Im not too sure how good they are on gas, but it deffinitly would be a sleeper
Im really looking for somekind of hatch or small car.. as far as i know the regal, or GTP would be the only car over a 4 cyl ill take.

88-89 Honda CRX
I had one with a (I think) B16B and it was a great little car that always got 32-35mpg.

Oh god he even types like a ricer. You have 3 choices to go by when you build a car fast, relighable or cheap. You can only pick 2. You already chose cheap so pick the other.

Do not buy a VW with the 2.slow, it is fucking terrible. Get a 1.8T, slap on an intake and turbo-back exhaust, then turn up the boost, bam 30 HP with no real work.
