They take the base model car, add bits, pieces, tune, and make it into even more of a driver's car.
Contour V6 => Contour SVT is a good example. (body kit and wheels....and 30hp, suspension...etc)

no.. not really.. and dont even say its similar to STi.. lol..
all i have seen Mazdaspeed do so far is add a turbo (tiny T25) at low boost to an engine not created for it.. hehe.. and comeout with something that SVT makes out of a N/A car.. SVT Focus
