Default HELP!...I want project car..plz read!

ive never had a project car before but im very intrested in it..ive been into modding cars for only about 2-3 yrs now...im a HS student so my budget isnt that gr8..well in the end of my project car i wanna accomplish a 13sec car..i know that All motor HB's are best but i was just curious of somthing that would be realy fun for a 1st timer..im pretty into DSMs but just to buy the car its a lil expensive..well if anyone has any advice..plz go ahead and suggest, i wanna do most the work myself..im not completly experince but i know enuff were if u give me intructions i can figure it out..cuz i worked for subaru last yr just doing tune ups and fix it shit...well plz help me out...

hmm... First project car, if I had a choice on my first project car, I would probably personally pick a Civic HB, CRX, or an Eagle Talon

I would most likely pick an old Civic hatch.

I think you could build a 13 second car a lot cheaper and easier by just buying and fixing up a nice late model V8 mustang.

yeah i completely understand where your comming from 400hp930 but i wanna do an import, just a personal optoin..and i guess a Civic HB would be gr8..does anybody have of any ideas of tips on how to get started..should i buy a shell then engine or whats up...

You could buy the shell if you wanted, or you could find ones usually in the the For Sale board with good engines already in them. Some people are having problems getting ahold of engines, atleast thats what Ive heard on the board. I personally would try to find one with a decent engine in it, and then if you dont like it, you can just buy a new engine later on and replace it.

a 5.0 can be had for 3-4 grand and a LT1 can be had for 5-6.....

and you are way ahead of the game. you will have to spend alot to get a Honda to the level of a LT1 or even a 5.0...

and the LT1 will do 13's stock. no headaches involved
