Paul Tracy, who was involved in the wreck, said a team of doctors was working on Wheldon, but there was no word of his injuries. A helicopter lifted off from the speedway, and an IndyCar official confirmed Wheldon was onboard.

I am a HUGE, I mean HUGE, Indycar fan.. I'm that guy that hangs from the scaffolding of one of the towers in downtown St.Pete across from the park when they are in town taking shots..... I am completely stunned

R.I.P. Dan Wheldon... This was a huge race for him and it really sucks it ended up like this.
