Default The pain one feels for unecessary car damage

So apparently sometime today a white vehicle pulled out of my across neighbors driveway and gave my door a pretty hefty dent into my driver door. No ones home so i left a note on the door. Lets hope someone explains by tonight or ill have to file a police report. Not that im
wanting to do that since accidents do happen. But whoever was driving the white vehicle definitely felt that they hit my car and drove off. Dont really know them but dont have any problems with them either so the benefit of the doubt is given of course.

Update: The Neighbors called and apparently sunday their mother was there and backed out with her white minivan. She told her son she thought she hit something but with the rain couldn't see any damage and drove off. I've got her Adress, name and number. Left a message and hoping she'll call back tomorrow. Seems She wants to settle it without insurance. Dont care how i get paid as long as i get a new door shell out of it. I won't settle for bondo and fiberglass on my car. Then again a door shell might end up cheaper for her anyway.

Doesnt take a forensic scientist to figure out which way the car was coming when it dented only my door, no side swipe from a passing vehicle. This was backing out at an angle paint off the bumper/quarter panel off their car.

at the edge of neightbors drive way.

Angle view to see how deep the dent is

And a closer shot. Definitely white car ive seen parked in neighbors driveway a few times.

And this ones me standing in their driveway.

It was most likely a girl driving, they fail 90% of the time backing out.

you need a police report for insurance... hopefully you can find out for sure who it was so you can get their insurance to pay for it.

they were either a moron and didn't know, or they don't have insurance. which isn't any better.

Not going to assume anything since i didn't see it. Lets hope they fess up. My neighbor to the right of me said she was home earlier and didnt notice damage on my car when she drove by.She has also witnessed a white vehicle in the driveway

And you don't need a police report if no one was injured and person at fault admits guilt to their insurance. I'm going to be diplomatic since this is a neighbor
but i wont refrain from a police report if I'm forced.

Wow..that sucks! Whoever did that was either drunk and took off in fear of possible DUI, or is just a complete idiot. G/l
