Default What to get?

I know something like this has come up before as a thread but i am conforming it to my needs. If you had roughly $7,000 to spend on a car what would you get. I am going to be in the situation soon. #1, Insurance cant be a bitch becuase I am under 18 and also #2, I plan on paying payments so that 7k includes downpayment plus mothly payments.

Get an eclipse gs-t, you can find one with that amount of money, it wont be the greatest thing on the world(mileage wise and such) but its a great car overall. If not be like everyone else and get a honda/acura....but the eclipse is the car to get though, make sure its a gs-t ...

my two cents

You wanna know what I think?

Buy a beater and save your money. Seriously. Spend about 3k on a dependible, reliable, economical car. It doesnt have to be a POS though..for about 3k you can find a nice daily driver.

Then, go to college. Get a job. Make a salary.

Then, buy the baddass car you've always wanted. Be it a Supra, RX-7, Mustang GT, Trans Am Firebird, NSX, S2000, 300ZX...whatever floats your boat.

Reason I say this is...I think its a waste of time and money trying to "rice" out a car while your young. Too much other bullshit to worry about...money, school, etc. Save your self a big fukin headache.

Or...dont listen to me and get a so-so quick car, hook it up alittle in the next couple of years...spend about 10k on it all in all. Decide to sell it when you realize you can only have speed and dependibility if you have money up the ass, and then think to your self..."damn, I shoulda listened to that crazy ole RicerX."

True enough, wish I had that knowledge at that age. But I wanted to be the cool one. Now all the smart ones I went to school with are the one's driving the Lexus's and BMW's etc. Live and Learn............As for car recommendations, Buy a 1st gen Turbo Supra and worry more about school than what your diving there with........... My 2cents
