Any good guides out there?
Hey TR, just wondering if there are any good guides out there that I could get started on for building an engine/car altogether. I really want to start a project car, most likely an eg. I know semi-basic stuff, a little more than average I would say. Any help would be great.
Thanks a lot!

cars for dummies
just kidding. Just go to a bookstore of your choice. But honestly, there is more information on the internet then in any book in that store. Also, I would really look into what car you want to build first. A Civic isn't a great choice in my opinion because there is so many crap parts out there. Maybe look at all the online communities and see what you're really getting into.
With an EG, you're getting into being made fun of for the amount of time that you own the car.

There isn't really going to be an ultimate "build a race car out of a civic" guide. But you will find thousands of guides on specific mods ie, make your own fiberglass panels, roll cages, turbo set ups, auto x suspension etc.
there are a lot of books on honda performance and b/d series engine building. there is a whole series of honda/acura books as well as many other manufactures

it really all depends on what your goals are.
from there, you need basic understanding. not knowledge. understanding. understanding takes it further than just a bunch of knowledge.
come up with some ideas of what you want to do to accomplish your goals.
apply your understanding to your ideas (example- if the goal is pulling 2.5 lateral G's, then you'll need to build a totally custom suspension so you would to apply your understanding of suspension and start designing. )
then build it
