Is "your friend" set on a car? Small suv/trucks can get decent mileage. CRV, rav4, 2.2 s10s etc. Large cars like the crown vic platforms can be "acceptable". New taurus are pretty big and get ok mileage.

But in all seriousness, I see fat asses in PT losers all day long here in Land O Lakes. I think they get decent gas mileage, I don't honestly know. Best bet would be some big body american car, for your big bodied american friend.

A used smart car FTW. They are actually roomy inside.
