'70s Cars We’d Just As Soon Forget
Looking up old cars and pics and I came across this little article. Thought it was pretty interesting.

Has there ever been a decade that’s given rise to so many lame cars?
Bragging rights from the early 70s...
Pontiac RA IV, HO 455, SD 455
Chevy LS5 and LS6
Ford Boss 429
Dodge 426 and 440
From the entire 80s...
A six cylinder Buick.

It's not fair to trash all the 70 era's cars all because of few shitty ones. There were some very cool cars from the early 70's.
I'd say 1974 thru 1984 was the worst decade for cars. '74 was the first year of mandated emissions controls in the U.S. and by 1985 some actual performance cars were finally starting to return.

not to rain on your parade but the 429 ford engines (boss hemi, and cobra jets were all 60's engines)
so was the 426 dodge (they made a few different engines with 426ci just fyi, you had the max wedge the hemi, yada yada) 440 magnum was also a 60's engine.
now with that said pinto's/mustang II/bobcat/chevette are all light weight rwd cars... not hard to make them fast with a engine swap, not much different than other economy cars with crappy low hp engines people swap out for more powerful and superior set ups.

lol...callin the gnx a 6 cylinder buick isnt fair...the grand national was nearly bad ass enough in it's own right to completely redeem the 80's for all the other crap hatchback models of previously bad ass cars they spewed into exsistence.

The 440 six pack through '71 some say '72.
The Hemi through '72.
In the early seventies the government began its successful affray into boredomizing the auto industry. The nation's enthusiastic passion for cars in the 70s was surpassed by nothing, not the NFL, not the MLB, NASA, nothing. And now, after 40 years of government regulations and a couple indoctrinated generations we get excited over a six cylinder Buick from 1987.
You guys don't know what you missed. That's raining on a parade.
