Does anyone know of a good place to go to get your windshield fixed for a decent price preferably in tampa. Yes i know your insurance can cover it but ill be paying cash.

 

If it is smaller than a quarter, pepboys sells a windshield repair kit for $20 that works pretty well and only takes about 20 minutes to do.

 

The DIY kits are garbage. Use the money towards having a professional service repair it. Safelite repaired a nice size chip/crack on my Passat and you could hardly see the repair (plus they also warranty the repair for life).

If you have comp covg through your carrier...then why pay out of pocket? The deductible doesn't apply for windshield repair or replacement.

 

He doesn't have insurance or he is an idiot.

 

i also have a small crack from a rock falling out of a truck......... i only have basic insurance would i still get a repair/replacement from insurance?

 

you MUST carry comprehensive insurance to have a free replacement/repair on your windshield. Basic insurance will not cover it.

 

try LLoyds autoglass they even give you a free box of steaks...... at least they used to i never used them myself.

 

I have basic coverage for my gf car hence the out of pocket

 

there is a guy that posts in nissan for sale that does windshields.
don't know about repairing them, but I know he replaces them for cheap.

 

Give Safelite a call. You may pay a bit more than some other places (or maybe not) but they warranty the work for life.
