hey guys, i dont know if this is the right section to post this in so mods feel free to move it if needed.

im looking to open a shop down here but im not too sure on location. after some research it seems like the st pete/palm harbor/clearwater area may be the best choice. pasco county is so broke it cant pay attention but real estate is cheap.

im looking for something around 5000sf of shop space or big enough for a dyno and 3 lifts and dead spaces for other stuff. a decent size office and a clean room. if anyone has opinions on location im all ears since you guys know the area better than me. also a yard that could fit a race trailer.

Look in the shop forums and see how many are out of business.

being new to the area, you sure you can sustain that?
not trying to be a dick or anything since I don't know you from a whole in the wall, but I've run the numbers for this area several times over the last few years and it is tough to get started in the area even if you know the area and have some "street cred" going into it.

 

I specialize in fwd turbo builds and tuning. Its definitely a different market down here but I think I stand a pretty decent chance of surviving with my business plan. Up north I had the shop and also our own line of electronics that we designed and manufactured. you can check that out here if inerested www.n2mb.com . When i relocated down here 2 years ago and closed the shop the electronics was and still is operational .

so what im really looking to do is get back into building cars and fabricating parts and above all else have my own dyno. right now i do a lot of travelling tuning and really need a place to hang my hat

I did notice there a lot of shops that closed and i really cant comment on them because i dont know them and dont know how much "seat time" they had in the business but ive been around since my pro-mod days back in the 80'S. if you google the name n2mb it brings up like 3.3 million results so you can read plenty about me
