Default Full of RICE

Now, anyone who has bought and sold imports "tuners" has experienced it before. Finding the right buyer who isn't just a tire kicker or adolecent boy who wants to "go fast" in a b16 civic swap.Car prices is what I am getting at, more specific, asking prices on "tuners". I put "tuners" in quotes as I am not trying to generalize them. I have owned a 92 si with a ls/v type-r cams and port and polish. a 89 sil-coupe 240sx with sr20, t28, 5 lug, safc-2, z32, the whole nine yards. and most recently a 96 240sx SE all stock minus some wheels intake and exhaust, i purchased with all mods, and sold the same way. I am no NEWBIE to the import scene or forums, I am a silent one, I read and learn but limit my imput, but i am in more outspoken mood today so bear with me.

How does one assume that adding mods "ups" the value of the mod. ex. sr20 swap with all the right stuff 2000, makes a 1200 dollar 89 coupe worth 4k or 5k, minus PS and AC, you take out 2 huge comforts, add a motor, and boom 2800 dollar gain........anyone else see the problem with that. its like a motor is a 1.5x multiplier of car value.......well in the real world it doens't but tampa racing seems to have a decent amount of this artificial inflation.
2nd exp. 93 civic with b18b and b16 head. aka Ls/V or poor type-r whatever. "fresh rebuild with approx 20000 miles". all stock engine components minus a "chipped and tuned ecu" jdm lip and roto's with a JDM steering wheel and perfect paint.....6500 obo.....are you kidding me..JDM is the new rice.face the facts instead of big wings and crazy vinyls. its outrageous lips on wheels and huge tucks. I am all for a super clean look but cmon. its old news. now IMO, if you have no proof of rebuild and/or it wasn't done professionally, your actually not helping the car. receipts are not a PROOf in any-court other then tax court or backed with a VALID witness. (such as a shop owner or worker who helped you) a motor built in a garage with approx mileage doesn't quite RATE the same value as a older factory motor IMO. and about my JDM comment, take it with a grain of salt, it was for getting a point across. I mean a clean title civic with 100,000 miles on chassis and APPROX 20,000k on FRESH rebuild, the poorman type-r is a cheap motor, and can be done for 1000 or less, done it. how does good paint and a few jdm parts = 6500. I know everyone has got a centimental value of a car but it doesn't mean jack as far as KBB or NADA.

Feel free to talk, but dont clutter with "lol you dont no shizzz homzz my fcking civic is illll to the max" Please speak or type in english as we are in america and use some sort of low level grammar skill. mines not perfect but im not really trying now.

my lag is your courtesy head start

ATTENTION.... installing a head gasket, head studs or pistons and rods in your otherwise STOCK engine dose not make it a "built" engine! stop listing you cars for sale saying they are built when its not!!

I think i will have to agree with you

Swapping the motor does not make the value go up as much as some people claim it does.

And neither do "jdm" parts

What the hell is this thread about. A buncha ricers who want to pretend they're fast and want way too much for their hacked up econobox pieces of shit?

I don't think that madness will ever end. Kids are stupid.

I thought you would be another faggot ranting about shit that gets discussed every day, but you actually have a point. The sad part is, they all buy and trade within there little group.

I never thought an ebay turbo kit could add 4k to the KBB value.

Also, I just did a KBB on a 93 civic hatch in good condition with average features, and got 1700. Explain that.

I'm disappointed you didn't emphasize more on the apparent drift tax in the Nissan community.

Also, I voted for the JDM CIVIC option because I don't follow the rules.

Think it all has to depend on the age of owner/seller as well. MOST, and I say most, not all, people in the age group of 16-23 drive the cars you speak of, probably don't make much money, and are trying to get their dollar back so they can buy something with just as many mods. When it comes down to it, the asking price of what they're selling is up to the buyer. It's either worth it to someone or it's not...
