This is a thread I posted in paint/body, but I figured hardly anybody goes there, so I wanted to post it up here as well.

This guy did this with no real tools (other than a buffer) and it only cost him around $50 to do. With all the broke asses on TR, myself included, I wanted to share.

The final product turned out amazing.

And once again, I've heard of it, and I've seen it, but I've never seen it come out this good. That, and the fact that three years later it still looked good.

 

I just did this yesterday, mine turned out great as well!!

Note the glossy finish, really came out great for black!!

the key to doing this is thinning the paint and being patient during application. 7-10 coats with wet sanding inbetween looks great after its all polished.

 

I guess pouring paint on the car and rolling it out until you can't see the original paint isn't really the "right" way to do it but it sure beat the hell out of 7-10 coats with all that wet sanding. That sounds like work.
