There were some very good points made in this thread. What irritates a lot of people that like to build up cars for performance, either import or domestic, s the people who slap on only cosmetic upgrades to their cars and say that they are into racing. Here's an analogy. I get a Geo Metro, put 20'' chrome rims on it, and a leather interior and then head over to a meet of Bentley owners and tell them I have a luxury car. They'll all laugh at me.

Al, That is a really good point and I see it that way, That is how the original "Rice Boy" term came to be but it has evovled into a much more close minded beast that needs to be abandoned. Because there are people who try to have good cosmetics that arent particularly my style or yours BUT they dont try to be a high perf sticker car, yet they are called ricers, since when did graphics on a car become rice? Now if the graphics were a Type R badge on a 2001 coupe, then I have a problem, But if they are just simple graphics and no stating anything else besides that person's taste or style who are we to down them for it? It seems as human nature we ALWAYS have to divide ourselves and out someone else to essentially make up for our sub counsious (sic) shortcomings. Just my .02

 

not that it's nothing but nothing but during my extensive testing of the farm truck's ( 1988 ford ranger) limits during my cars downtime, I placed a Type R(anger) badge on the hood. I now notice harder acceleration on 87 octane and I am able to slide the ass end around corners in the rain.

there has been lots of testing on the truck, and it gained exactly 5.5 horsepower. not bad for a stick-on mod.

Ummm, sorry fucker, but I didn't put red emblems on my car because they are like from the type Rs or because they'd make me faster....I put em on cause they matched other red shit on my car.
