I Went To The Danger Zone . . . (RPM Wise)
Since we are on the topic of over-rev.
At the FAM event last month I was constantly bouncing the rev's off the non existant limiter at 8k (Tach limited, stock is 7200rpm) on my S14 SR20 and it actually broke the variable timing cam gear which in turned caused the valve overlap to be off so much that the motor was sucking in exhaust gases and shot combustion temps up so high that I melted one piston and cracked two others with in 2 laps of it happening.
I'd call that going into the danger zone.
