Looks like Ford's keeping a couple aces in the deck.

The car is SICK regardless, but that tells me ford sent motortrend a little more than stock GT to them. Car is still crazy running those times it has though. I'm a big camaro fan and like the looks much better on it, but it would be hard to take a new SS over this.

drove a v6 automatic today at work, It ripped but I really want to drive a manual!

Highly considering a '11 V6 6SPD for my next car, you can get them for 22k out the door and it has the same 1/4th mile time as last years GT!

The base 2011 Mustang V6 has 305hp with a 6 speed manual and is actually faster than all previous GTs. It does mid 13s stock at over 100mph trap speed all the while getting 31mpg on the highway. It's one of the best packaged base model cars you can get.

You could be right. With press fleets, yes it might be easy to cook up something special. But often M/T and others pull cars right off dealer lots And I'm not so sure those are "to the wheels" figures either. Probably more at the crank. Not sure.

Here's Edmunds test too:
"Clearly, the 395 rwhp figure we measured is of particular interest since it implies one of two things -- either Ford is being conservative with its 412-hp flywheel rating, or the preproduction example we tested is unusually healthy. We're leaning toward the former, but we won't know for sure until we test a production 2011 Mustang."
