I don't know what drivetrain they use, but I've seen 1 sunfire I liked, some dude on here lowered it and it looked good, for a sunfire. sunbird wasnt even worth a mention, lol.

This, if you read more of the original thread, you find out that the guy taking photos only posted pics of the riced out cars, from 2 or 3 different years. Its suppose to be a really big meet, so of course more ricers will show, and if you only post pics of the riced cars, it would appear that those were the only car.
OP seems like an ass, but his cars are pretty awesome.
Edit: This is a pic from a Z3 driver that went to that event, if you look close, you realy dont see any riced out cars, Z3 might not be everyones cup of tea, but its still proves me point

...the Sunfire was the better car by far. The only repairs it needed in the 115,000 miles I had it was an 02 sensor and a battery. No build quality issues either. The Cavalier...has 130,000 miles. Its first repair was at 108,000...had a battery and is now on its 3rd drivers side front wheel bearing. To be fair, the current bearing didnt even make it 500 miles before ti started going bad, so either it was installed wrong or was bad to start with.
Why so much difference in quality??? Sunfire was assembled in Canada, the Cavalier in Mexico.
The Cavalier performs much better since it has the DOHC motor, and is more comfortable because of the better interior...but overall build quality is far worse than the Sunfire. I cant complain at all about the reliability...other than the battery in each car getting old and going bad they have never failed.
