Default License plate Registration and License renewal Qs

My tags expired this month and I need to renew them do I go to the dmv or is there some place I can do it online? I tried doing it online and it was taking me to some shady website that Firefox picked up as being unsecured or w/e. Anyways I also need to renew my drivers license bc it also expires this month and its telling me I need to sign up for selective services to do so? what is this bs? Anyone else get this upon renewing their license?

This is exactly what its saying when I go to renew it:

Your Driver License is eligible to be renewed online. You need to register for Selective Service. This will be done automatically with any transaction you perform today. Need more information?

Its the law, so unless you are trying to avoid registering with the SS just do it.

Big brother may eventually need you to go fight some new BS war over oil or some other big business BS, so you gotta do what you gotta do.

The illusion of freedom isn't free after all, lol.

Yes they will make you sign up if you go into the dmv, you are supposed to sign up for it when you turn 18. Just go to the post office grab one of the 5 line cards fill it out then call it a day? I dont see what the big deal is. Shouldnt you be more concerned with spending the 300 bucks at the dmv?

Do it all online, why even waste time going in for a renewal?

You will then be legal and get the new licence in the mail in a few days.

Yeah ill def do it online I was just hesitant bc of the selective service crap, their website doesn't really give much info on what it is, and I guess I still don't fully understand what it is bc their website is confusing.

The law says you have to register for SS when you get a licence or otherwise need the goods or services of the state by the time you are 18. If you are not just turning 18 I don't know how you got this far yet without doing so.
