I think that BngWtr (LOL) has it right, its up to the driver. If you treat a car right, it will last. Unless that car is a Focus.

 

If it is up to the driver you would think it would be the wealthier (GENERALLY smarter) people who purchased the luxury brands would have better reliability since they know to do their maintenance to protect their investments.
