FAQ: How to paint your wheels
ehhhhh idk about a red lip.... it doesnt even match anything on the car... so they are gonna stay black for awhile untill they need to be resprayed

Im curious as too how sanding the way you did compares to completly stripping the coating off. I know for pc, they need to strip the orig. paint, finish, etc... in order for the coating to form a bond to the metal.
Im sure if you sand REALLY good, its no different, cause in essence your creating a nice porous surface for the paint to bond too!
