Default Which is better for blocking/ reducing heat!?

My Z3 is still for sale, but I am not gonna stop working on my car, so I decided to try and finish the air intake heat box. I made the templetes and ready to put together, this isnt going to cost anything I have all the things I need at home.

As for the actuall material being used, I have enough of the following, but dont know which would be best to keep intake temps down.

ABS Plastic
Stainless Steal
Aluminum
FiberGlass

Thank guys!

hahaha i jk stainless steal is a very hard material and is a pain in the ass to work with. and metal retains heat so i would think it would work well as a heat sink. and i dont know the caracturistics of fiberglass.

if i had to guess id say aluminium or abs.

Is there not three other opitions?

I am guesing abs plastic might not hold up to heat well, but its not close to the engine, it was a question.

I am thinking stainless steal, aluminum, but if fiberglass works, great, I have plenty.

all he is doing is making a heat shield for the intake iirc, whats wrong with abs? but i still say aluminium would work the best.

He's acting like I am making a heat cove for a exhaust
manifold.

Hell man, they make intake manifolds out of abs.. itll be fine. But I think fiberglass would be the best insulator, but also the hardest to work with..
